Mrs.Janis Patricia Wilson daughter of James Wesley McNeal Sr. (deceased) and Pearlene Richardson McNeal was born March 19 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended South Side High School and graduated early and soon after attended Lemoyne Owen University where she received honors for being on the Dean's list. At an early age Mrs.Wilson professed her faith in Jesus Christ and once attended Greater New Salem Church where she was a pianist and organist for the church choir.
Mrs.Janis Patricia Wilson was united in holy matrimony to Tommy Lee Wilson Sr. (deceased) and became a bonus mother to Tommie Lee Wilson Jr. and Demetrius Wilson. Soon after they gave birth to a daughter Jana Nicole Wilson McNeal Johnson and Jermaine Javon Wilson who survives them both.
Mrs.Wilson was an excellent homemaker and hardworking mother. She worked at Sears Tower, Asi, Ledic property management among a long list of experience in customer service.
Mrs.Wilson was a very fun loving woman who enjoyed life to the fullest and was the party where ever she went. During the course of her life she endured many physical and medical challenges. Mrs.Wilson suffered from a stroke and after long rehabilitation, she was able to regain a quality of life again.
Those who came into contact with Mrs. Wilson especially at her doctor appointments and places she would offer her time to such as charity work at many church events, stated that they loved to see Mrs.Wilson coming and that you wouldn't know what she had been through by just looking at her.
Mrs.Janis Patricia Wilson will always be loved and remember by her loving family, brother James Wesley McNeal Jr ( deceased) and Jerome Augustus McNeal. Her loving children Jermaine Javon Wilson- Kristin Leigh Wilson and Jana Nicole Wilson McNeal Johnson. Grandchildren - Kwasi Johnson, Nasir Johnson, Keion Johnson, Janeya Johnson, Tremaine Javon Wilson, Mason Xavier Wilson, Christian Lee Wilson, Mia Miller, Ayla Miller.
She also had a wonderful relationship with her cousins - Buffy Bradshaw, Melanie "Pinky" Boone, Anita Martin, Kevin Boone and a host of other loving family and friends .
Her loving and welcoming smile and laughter will forever reign in our hearts and our memories and she has gained her wings on January 3, 2024 to be with the lord and those who proceeded her.
A visitation for Janis will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM.
