James Patton "Pat" Whitaker, 88, died at his home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Edward Whitaker and Helen Patton Whitaker; and his brother Van Edward Whitaker, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Coggins Whitaker; son, Keith Whitaker; daughter, Ginger Wise (Billy); son, Emmett Whitaker (Tracy); three grandchildren, Katherine Wise, Emmett Whitaker, Jr. and Archie Whitaker; his brother, Thomas Lawler Whitaker (Patricia); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pat was a 45 year resident of Germantown, TN and a member of Germantown Presbyterian Church. He was in the home furnishings business for all of his career. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, but most of all, Saturday's in Oxford at The Circle with his family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 19 from 4-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 20 at noon at Germantown Presbyterian Church.
