Harold graduated from Myrtle High School, Class of 1951. He retired from the Memphis Police Department, after 25 years of service. He later worked as head of security for Schering-Plough Corporation for 15 years. He served his church and homeschool families by grading school papers for 5 years in and around Sardis, Mississippi. He was a lifetime member and master mason of Lodge 118. He loved fishing and was avid sports fan, especially basketball. He also coached high school girls basketball at Hammond Hills Baptist School, where he lead their team to a championship.
He is survived by his daughter, Davena Latham (Greg); grandsons, Andy Cooper (Taylor) and Justin Cooper (Jessica); great-granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Cooper; niece, Lisa Kenoyer; and nephew, Joey Dye. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hugh Dye and Maggie Lee House Dye and brother, Ershel Dye.
A visitation for Harold will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
