Today makes 1 year since you have been gone. I am always thinking about my Ma Bell. It felt so good to be inside of your home on yesterday and being around family and friends! Keep resting in heaven and love you always. I will always be your Shaky Shaky ❤❤

When I got the news this morning I could not do anything. I froze laying in bed crying. Not only was Ma Bell my friend, she was my godmother. Not only did she take care of me my two brothers and sister. She took care of everyone else child as well. It was so good to see you in person on last Saturday and your smile just brighten up the room. I will never forget your tasty oatmeal, chicken salad, fish plates and chicken wings. Yall, Ma Bell was always cooking or helping someone out if they had a event. Ma Bell was a incredible woman and I am forever grateful to be your number 1 God daughter, Shaky. Rest in heaven sweet lady❤. I am praying for Ma Bell children and sisters and brothers.

Gwen was my friend.
Even though the time that I’ve known her is short, her impression upon my life is forever.
Her giving heart, her strength and her Faith were a light for so many.
Her cooking brought smiles to so many.
This includes my 83 year old Mom and I.
Just last Christmas she handmade  scrumptious 3 layer cake for us at no charge.
Simply because it was in her heart to “bless “ those who’d blessed her.

I can still see your face!!! You were always diligent in getting me the things I needed for my son Jamerson at Soulsville! I was so grateful for everything you did, and even MORE appreciative now as I learn of this news. To the family, be encouraged, and may the Lord be with each of you as you ponder the beautiful memories this sweet lady left behind. I will NEVER forget her labor of love and kindness towards me!! Ma Bell…Ms Gwen was always so lovely to us and our children.  When our daughter Ashlyn passed Jan 22, 2019, she prepared dinner for us a couple of times.  She said “Sheila find out what everyone wants and I’ll make it and bring it to you”!  And she did just that.   She loved people…for real!  She will be greatly missed by so many!💙  Her family, friends, and entire village has our deepest condolences.

I am 70 and she was 65 , yet I called her Ma Bell because she acted like everybody's mama. The love I have for her and her family can't be expressed in words.  

Ms. Gwen Bell, My friend and daughter's #1 babysitter  from God. You babysat my babygirl Maya, from the very beginning and until she went to school.   We hit it off great right from the start, so much, that you chose me to be  Deedee's Godmother, a joy I still enjoy unto  this day.  I remember all the early morning drop-off talks we would have and the pickup talks that were even longer. I looked forward to those talks everyday. I remember all of the time we spent together at Ma Bell's daycare. It's hard to believe that Ms. Gwen/Ma-Bell has transitioned to be with God. You were a jewel and an angel from above from the moment we met.  Lord God, give strength to Deedee,  Mariah, Reggie,  Elton, Michael and the family during this time. We love Ms. Gwen Bell soooo much. I love y'all and will continue to keep you in my prayers always.

Gwen was my neighbor and  Sis throughout our life time.  We stayed in touch and she was always such a fun and positive person.  She will be missed. Condolences to the family and I am praying for strength during this difficult time.  🙏 

Ms. Gwen Bell was my cousin 's nextdoor neighbor 's and best friend she became one of my loyal customers when her vehicle had issues. I appreciated her entrusting me to fix it. My Condolences go out to her children and family. 

I got to know Ms. Gwen from being my cousin’s next door neighbor. She was always so kind and sweet. Then I realized she was also my church member. Ms. Gwen always had a smile on her face and a kind word of encouragement. She was a GREAT cook and seamstress. My prayers to her children and family. May you find peace, comfort and strength in our GOD.

Love, food, friend and family that was Ma Bell. She love you like family, she cooked for you like family, again and again she was a friend know matter what was going in your life you could talk to Ma Bell. Most of all Ma Bell was a member of God's family. and she trust him with all her heart 

MaBell was more than a caregiver. I remember her telling me, “I’m not a teacher, but your kids will learn manners and get some good home cooked meals.” She meant that. She taught my babies to say grace and use table etiquette. I remember running into her at target and she asked why the girls had their pacifiers because she had not been giving them. Ma Bell was more than a care giver. She was a friend, sister, auntie, etc. The yard  sales we had would quickly finish the day with a fish fry. MaBell definitely brought a new meaning to family! Rest in heaven until we meet again on the other side!

The last time I saw Quinn she was still battling her dreadful disease.  However she had a very positive outlook for her future.  One can only have such a positive spirit when they align themselves with Jehovah as Jesus did the night before his death .  As Jesus said to Mary and Martha:  Lazarus is sleeping and I am traveling there to awaken him .  Sleep on my dear Quinn until it’s time for Jesus to awaken all those belonging to him.  Acts 24:15

As far back as I can remember Ma Bell has been just as much as a family member to me and my family as my blood relatives. She started of simply as a babysitter, then over time that relationship changed from babysitter to family friend, and at some point Ma Bell became the grandmother that I never had in Memphis. Ma Bell had one of the purest forms of love that I have ever experienced. A love that radiated from her and brought comfort to any and all around her because in your heart you knew if this woman loved you she LOVED you. I have to thank Ma Bell for showing me that’s it’s love and not blood that makes a family. Thank you God for allowing me to meet Ma Bell and be in her presence for 20 plus years. I pray that a piece of her kindness never leaves my heart. 

Gwen was always in the kitchen cooking at all family events even while not feeling her best.The best cakes,pies,any deserts.She would make Randall(Buke) a cake Everytime he would come in town.And he would put it in front seat with seatbelt and make sure it got home safe.She made sure he had his own cake.She danced, laughed and cried at Elton and Pooh's home 4thJuly.Thats a memory I'll cherish.Val
