Gary was born on October 18, 1949 to the late Beatrice Engelbeg Murray & Murray Nathaniel Murray in Memphis, Tennessee.
He believed that at an early age his calling was to serve others and save lives. He had a passion for cardiology research to help people. He accomplished this in many research endeavors over his lifetime through tireless hours of work. The last years of his life were spent unselfishly trying to help his patients he loved, along with patients all over the world by his research in cardiac and autonomic dysfunction. He planned to start a new society with some of his colleagues to educate physicians and patients, and further the knowledge of disease and disorders that involved autonomic dysfunction affecting quality of life, productivity, and longevity.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa McCandless Murray, five children Paul Christopher Murray, Melissa Murray, Gabriel Murray, Gareath Murray and Gina Murray; three grandchildren Ander Murray, Emma Sue & Eliza Sophia who was just born August 31; three brothers: Ian Murray, Evan Murray and Robert Murray of Memphis.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 9th from five o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock with funeral services following Friday morning, September 10th beginning at eleven o’clock all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
