Clinton Webster Kimbrell, age 79, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. C.W. was born September 8, 1943, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to Thomas Allen Kimbrell and Betty Robina Cox Bowers.
C.W. was a career businessman, owning several companies, and spent more than 50 years in the Oleo Chemical industry. He also served overseas in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was an avid Memphis State Tigers fan and enjoyed fishing, boating, pretending to be good at golf, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Allen Kimbrell; and sisters, Geneva June Kimbrell and Carol Gillespie. C.W. is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna Kimbrell; daughter, Rhonda Sue Sales; step-son, Robert Rutherford; five grandchildren, Bradley Sales, Daniel Sales, Camille O'Briant, Amber Johansen, and Bobby Rutherford; and three great-grandchildren, Nora Sales, Jacob Sales, and Colton Wayne Sales. He is also survived by his half-brother, Warren Bowers and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Thursday, September 29 from 4:30 until 6:30 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, September 30 at 10:00 AM with a visitation at 9:30 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
