Betty Jo Metts

Betts Jo Metts, age 79, of Memphis passed away on January 25, 2018, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home , at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Friday, January 26, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral service will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. Memphis Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Betty was born in Memphis to William (Bill) L. Mayo and Ruth (Jerry) S. Mayo on January 16, 1939. She went to high school at Treadwell High School and graduated in 1957.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jerry. She is survived by her sister, Nita Gwen Mayo, of Escondido, California, and her three children, Lisa Dawn Balton of Memphis Tennessee, Dennis Michael Metts of Vista, California, and Troy Alan Metts, of Loganville, Georgia. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Rachel Allison Hinson, Emily Gwen Balton, John Robin Balton, Courtney Leigh Orr and Zackary Alan Metts, and her three great grandchildren, Cooper Alan Metts, Henry Marlin Hinson, and Harper Katherine Orr.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in the name of Betty Jo Metts to Memphis Jewish Home, 36 Bazeberry Road, Cordova, Tennessee 38018, 901-758-0036.

The family wishes to extend its gratitude to Memphis Jewish Home for their support during the last few years of her life and to Crossroads Hospice for their support during her final days.
