Betty M. Johnson (nee Scholtz) age 84 formerly of Des Plaines passed away March 26, 2015 in Tennessee. Loving mother of Kathy (Don) Stocks, Robert (Judi), Jeff (Aurelia), Keith, Karol (Steve) Salerno, Eric (Erin) and the late Richard and Kevin (Amanda). Cherished grandmother of Greg (Kelly) Hillenburg, Mandi (Brian)Fritz, Sabrina (Barry) Spain, Ryan Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Kevin Johnson Jr., Anastasia Johnson, Leonardo Johnson, Richard Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Benjamin Johnson and 18 Great Grandchildren. Beloved sister of Jeanette Blanken and predeceased by Elaine Rose, Penny Taylor, LeRoy Scholtz and Betty Lou Hammerstein. Cherished aunt to Robert Rose, Sue (Chris) Goetz, Sharon (Ron) VonPasecky, Sandy (Steve) Martins, Jim (Carmen) Rose, Tammie (Keith) Hartwig, Pam (Ted) Baseleon, Lori Blanken, Lynn (Clay)DeWitt, Krista (Ron)Logan, Henry (Dorothy) Taylor and great aunt to many. Betty was a registered nurse from 1953 - 2002. She worked at Grant Hospital and St.Joseph's in Chicago, Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, also St.Francis Hospital in Memphis until she retired. She loved her birds, she had many cockatiels and several types of parrots, namely, Pretty Boy, Sugar, Forrest, Sundance, Willie, and parakeets Bert and Ernie. She also enjoyed watching the outside birds in her yard. She enjoyed preparing and baking cookies for the holidays. She loved having her family around for the holidays, enjoying the delicious food and desserts. She will be missed by all. Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 11:30 a.m. Until time of service at 1:00pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home 745 Graceland Ave, Des Plaines, IL.
