Alex J. Vaporean, beloved husband of Glenda, died at home on Friday, January 27. Alex grew up in St Louis, MO; lived for 6 years in Germany. His parents were Anastas “Nick” and Donma Papasturgies from Romania. He was a graduate of Truman State University and received his M.S. from UofM. He retired from the Army as a Systems Analyst; afterwards worked as a counselor for Frayser Mental Health Center and Arlington Developmental Center. He leaves two brothers, George (from Florida) and Paul; a sister, Ermaline (both from St. Louis); five children, Eric (Pittsburg) and Stephen Vaporean (St. Louis) Carole Vaporean (New York), Ginger Holland, Andrew Bredow and three grandchildren, Abby and Adam Holland and Alyssa Bredow, all from Memphis. He was a member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, February 1 at 9:30 a.m. in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
