Alease Pollan Schmidt

Alease Martin Pollan Schmidt, 93, of Germantown, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning May 5, 2013. Alease was born on April 12, 1920, a lifelong resident of Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles D. Pollan, Jr. and father of her seven children: Carol Paxson (David); Ronnie Pollan (Martha); Butch Pollan; Jim Pollan, deceased; Linda Burns (Larry); Bobby Pollan (Vinita); Billy Pollan (Kerri). Also preceding her in death was her late husband of 24 years, Frederick Schmidt. They were members of Germantown Baptist Church. She leaves her sister, Lucille Cubbins of Roanoke, VA, and was preceeded in death by her sister Doris Turberville of Memphis, TN. She leaves 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Alease deeply cared and loved her large family. She was a devoted mother to not only her own, but others who also looked up to her as a mother. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. Visitation is at 12 noon with service to follow at 2 p.m. and interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Poplar Avenue.
