Cynthia D. Young

Born on February 3, 1941 in Colon, Panama, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Carter and Blanche Griffith.

In 1953, Cynthia moved to the U.S. with her Aunt Iolanthe Tia Bey. She attended Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, NY. In 1967 she married McCrae H. Young. During her career she worked as a home attendant, a job well suited for her. She enjoyed cross word puzzles and crocheting, making everyone in her family a blanket, but her favorite past time was playing bingo.

Cynthia accepted Christ in 2012 and joined the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in 2014.

She is predeceased by her aunt, Tia, two sons, Anthony and Gordon and a step -father Joseph Griffith.

She leaves behind three children, Dwayne (Melissa) Griffith of medina, Ernesta (Samuel) McEwen of Brooklyn, NY, Delcina (Carlos) Smith of Medina, four grandchildren, Gordon, Cindy, Xavier, Jasmine, four great grandchildren, Anessa, Gordon Jr., Chance , Cordell and four sisters and two brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 5PM - 8PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 324 Catherine St. Medina, NY 14103 with the Pastor, Rev. Vincent J. Iorio officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Cynthia’s name to the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
