Carol Joyce Gidley

Born December 4, 1933 in the Town of Yates, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mildred (Cliff) Ehrenreich.

Carol grew up in Lyndonville, NY, graduating in 1951. On June 21, 1952, she married the late J.T. Gidley. She worked for many years as a Teacher’s Aide and as a Media Secretary for the Lyndonville School System until her retirement in 1994. She was church organist and choir director for more than 60 years at the Knowlesville United Methodist Church, where she was a life-long member.

In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, golfing and bowling.

She is survived by children, Larry (Laurie) Gidley of Medina, Jamie (Lauren) Gidley of Lockport, Wade Gidley of Waco, TX, and Janelle (Dustin) Drew of Hewitt, TX. Grandchildren, Brian (Stacy) Gidley, Benjamin Gidley, Emelie Gidley, Jonathan Gidley, Brennan Hamner and Collin Hamner. Great-grandchildren, Jake Gidley, and Cole Gidley. Sister, Garry (Florence) Ehrenreich. Nephews, Todd and Scott Ehrenreich.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl Street, Medina, NY 14103.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 10 AM at the Knowlesville United Methodist Church, 3622 Knowlesville Rd., Knowlesville, NY 14479 with Pastor, Rev. Christopher Wylie officiating. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Carol’s name to the Knowlesville United Methodist Church.
