My cousin, Carol Pauline Salin, moved from New York City to the Los Angeles area of California in the early 1950s.  We used to see each other occasionally after that, between her infrequent visits back to New York and my more frequent visits to California (a dozen times or so from the 1950s to the 1980s).  Carol also visited me when I was studying in Mexico in 1967.  She had a wide variety of interests, and took great pleasure in the arts, including creative arts, while living in Oregon.  We spoke by phone at the beginning of each new year, especially in recent years after I moved to eastern Maine,  I shall miss Carol very much; she was the last first-cousin that I had on my mother's side of the family.  My sincere condolences to her children and their families.
