She was a devoted mother to six children, Michael (Tamara), Margaret, Kathleen, Theresa, Thomas (Marianne) and Steven (Janean); grandmother to Ryan (Danielle), Devin, Corey (Abbey), William (Aleah), Michael, and great-grandmother to Finn, Henry and William.
Barbara married the love of her life -- our father, William B. Driscoll -- in 1948, and they were together until his passing in 2006. She was a devout Catholic and lived her faith throughout her life. As a native Californian, Barbara grew up near the seashore and raised her children with an appreciation for the ocean and all its wonders. Barbara and Bill moved to Medford in 1990 to begin enjoying their retirement. Barbara was an accomplished and amazing artist, working in many medias, including watercolors, charcoal, oils and textiles, often recreating the wonders of her amazing garden into paintings that almost came to life. She had an inquisitive mind, and was an avid reader of historical biographies, in addition to multiple newspapers every day. She was a gourmet cook, never shying away from cuisines from many other cultures. She had a wonderful way of imparting her love of art, nature, cuisine, history and world events to her children and grandchildren, for which we are all enriched and eternally grateful. But it was her sweetness, her kindness to strangers, and her loving ways that will have the longest lasting impact; we are all better people, thanks to her living example of grace. That is her legacy.
Memorial and Inurnment will take place on Oct 4, 2021, at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon. She will be laid to rest to join her loving husband William B. Driscoll in eternity. We loved them both so much; they are both dearly missed by family and friends alike.
