Shirley Marie Thompson

Shirley Marie Thompson, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024 surrounded in love by her six children. She was born on May 4, 1937 in Wyalusing, PA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Jack C. Thompson. Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. As a dedicated mother, Shirley always put her family first, selflessly sacrificing her own needs for the well-being of those she loved. Her nurturing nature and unconditional love created a warm and loving home where cherished memories were made. In addition to her role as a devoted mother, Shirley enjoyed her work in the banking industry as an administrative assistant. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her genuine warmth, playful spirit and infectious smile. She will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirley is survived by her children, Colin Thompson, Becky Dew (Billy), Sheldon Thompson (Cindy), Jill Kennedy, Wesley Thompson (Carol) and Kerry Thompson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly (Neal), Michael, Jonathan (Rachael), Spencer, Kristin, Dylan (Auguste), Noah, Jacy, Bailey, Quinn, Carlin, Blake (Morgan) and Carter; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. Shirley will be buried alongside her beloved husband at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia County, VA. Services will be private.
