Sarah Lee Lamphiear

Sarah Lee Lamphiear, age 92, of Mechanicsville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Hilton B. Lamphiear, Jr., parents James B. Aycock and Lillie M. Aycock, brother James O. Aycock and sister Gladys O. McCage. She was a homemaker, enjoyed planting flowers, writing poetry, collecting hats, making cards and was a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church. Sarah is survived by her son, Hilton B. Lamphiear, III; sister-in-law, Anne Howell; nieces, Marcie (Mark) Javner, Christie (Danny) Money, Lynda (John) Sappington, and nephew, Leonard Lawhorne; great and great-great nieces and nephews; her church family and dear friend and neighbor, Brenda Turner. Relatives and friends are invited to Sarah's visitation at Woody Funeral Home- Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA on Friday, May 31, from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM. A Graveside Service will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 5 at 1 PM.
