John Ramsey Flournoy Sr.

Flournoy, John Ramsey, Sr., 85, of Mechanicsville, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife and soul mate, Lucille Sheffield Flournoy; daughter, Janet F. Goad; sisters, Margaret and Annie Simms; brothers, Richard and Marshall Flournoy. He is survived by his sons, John R. Flournoy, Jr. and wife Polly and Michael E. Flournoy and wife Joy; four grandchildren, Steven, David, Jennifer and Matthew; 12 great- grandchildren. He was a General Contractor in the home building trade and renowned as a hard worker, dedicated friend, and terrific fisherman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23116. Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, August 24, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 W. Nine Mile Rd., Highland springs, Va. 23075. Burial to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
