James "Jimmy" Ryland Greenstreet

James "Jimmy" Ryland Greenstreet, age 89, of Mechanicsville, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Thomas Greenstreet He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jean P. Greenstreet; daughters, Christine Chandler (Jeffrey), Judith Tharpe (Bruce) and Mary Ryland Collins; step-son, Kevin Smolen; and step-daughter, Tracey Gaskins; 11 grandchildren who adored him and two great grandsons, all of whom will cherish their memories with Papa. Jimmy served his country in the Navy, loved sports of all kind, was a member of the Corps of Cadets at John Marshall High School, and attended the University of Richmond. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Tuckahoe Moose Lodge #1163. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116. Where a funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023. A graveside service will follow at 2pm at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23238.
