Hester Clemmer passed away December 7, 2024 at her home in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
She was born April 1, 1943 to Preston Walter and Goldie Wine Griffith.
Hester graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, Virginia in 1961 and later that year married Elmer Clemmer, Jr. They were married 51 years until his death in 2013. For several decades she worked as a bookkeeper for various companies in Fauquier County including the family business, Clemmer Custom Painting. She was an active member of The Plains Baptist Church for most of her life. After moving to Mechanicsville, she joined Cool Spring Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Lisa Clemmer (Chris Brooks) and Crista Cole, her granddaughters Channing Brooks (Jacob Hruska) and Mason Cole, and her grandson Preston Cole. She is also survived by two brothers Preston S. Griffith (Joan) and Lloyd Griffith (Fran).
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Gene Beall.
