Graveside services will be at Moody Cemetery, under the direction of Cole Funeral home, 10:30, Thursday, February 25, 2016. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, Texas.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Brinkley, parents Carl and Ordie Beard, and brother, Billie Beard.
Mrs. Brinkley was born November 17, 1922, in Willow Grove, outside of Moody, Texas. On November 30, 1940, she married the love of her life, Vernon Brinkley, in Moody, Texas. They were married 59 ½ years before his death, July 30, 1999.
Margaret was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of McGregor for 56 years, until her illness in 2010. She was also an active member of the Homebuilders Class, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and secretary of her class. She was a beloved babysitter to many children in her community. She was known for her wonderful home cooked meals and desserts, but most of all for her love of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces and nephews, her best friend, and all of her beloved friends in McGregor.
Survivors include two sons; Larry Brinkley of Dallas, Carl Brinkley and wife, Judy, of Wichita Falls, daughter; Janie Berrier and husband, Tom, of Salado, grandchildren; Apryl Hynes and husband, Tony, of Washington, Shana Wilson and husband, Jeremy, of Belton, Shane Berrier and wife, Jenna, of Salado, Jeramy Guillory, of North Carolina, great-granddaughter; Kaylee Berrier, of Salado, and all of her beloved nieces and nephews.
