Col (ret) Douglas Monroe Wendt of Joshua TX passed November 6, 2024 in Crowley , TX. Services will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Cole funeral home in McGregor , TX. Chaplain Palmer Bowers officiating. Douglas will be laid to rest in St. Paul Memorial Park, Crawford, Texas.
Doug was born March 8, 1939. Parents of Monroe Wendt and Ida ( Jacobs) in Waco, TX. He grew up in Crawford, TX brother to late John Wendt.
He attended Baylor university before a 30 year decorated career in the United States Air Force. Doug flew Helicopters around the world including the Vietnam War .
In retirement he kept busy with his passions including his Real estate and Tax business. Also working various projects with his sons and lunch with his friends in Ft. Worth.
Doug is survived by his loving family. Sons Greg of Birmingham and Brad (late) of Niceville, FL. Grandsons Zachary, Carter, and Griffin Wendt of Niceville/Tallahassee FL. Florida State University.
