Dorothy Lee Thomas

Dorothy Thomas of McGregor, Texas passed away Saturday afternoon, February 23, 2019, before her 93rd birthday party. Funeral services will be 11:00 Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, Texas with interment following in McGregor Cemetery.

Dorothy Thomas was born February 21,1926 to Lillie Ross Inge and Lonnie Inge in Bastrop County, Texas. She married Tommy Thomas, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1970. Dorothy worked as a uniform presser in Fort Hood, Texas for twenty-nine and a half years at Quarter/Master laundry and for 10 years at Girling Health Care, along with another Health Care provider. She was the proud mother of seven, grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 21, and great great grandmother of 16. Dorothy was a ray of sunshine who loved people. Her favorite past time was playing domino's and loving on her family. She was the Domino Queen. She was adored by all who graced her presence.

Proceeding her in death was her husband, Tommy Thomas; daughters, Lois Williams, Katherine Portis; sons Melvin Thomas, Fate Thomas; one brother; and six sisters.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughters, Ella, Vivian, Evelyn Sue and husband, Jimmie Ray, Berniece Brooks; son, Tommy, Jr. and wife, Lola; son in law Larry Portis, Sr.; brother, Louis Inge; sisters, Jennell Washington, Joyce Gault and Joe, and Willie Ruth Blaylock.
