Dorothy Louise Plemons Neal

Dorothy Plemons Neal of McGregor died Tuesday afternoon, March 27, 2012, at the age of 90. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 30, 2012, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Interment will follow in Harris Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Cole Funeral Home.

One of four children of the late Roy Edgar and Bertha Odella (Plemmons) Plemons, Dorothy was born December 31, 1921, in Ocee, Texas. She began her education at Highland School and was a 1940 graduate of South Bosque School. On June 20, 1940, she married Charles Edwin Neal in Waco. After fifty-one years of marriage, he preceded her in death, May 15, 1992.

Mrs. Neal was employed by Woolworths and Woolco Department Stores in Waco as a clerk and personnel manager for twenty-one years before her 1984 retirement. She was a member of Harris Creek Baptist Church in McGregor.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Marvis Robinette, Lorita Birdwell and a brother, Edgar Plemons.

Survivors include three sons, Stanley Neal of McGregor, Joe Ed Neal of Robinson, Don Neal of Bruceville; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
