Ray Carlton Johnson, Jr., age 63, of Mansfield, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. He was born in Atlanta to the late Ray and Shirley Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Eric Johnson and his sister, Sheila Johnson. Ray was a successful businessman owning and operating Tara Auto Parts in Jonesboro, GA, Southlake Brake and Tire in Morrow, GA and three independent Napa stores in Jonesboro, Hampton and McDonough. He loved boats, cars and anything fast. and spent most days in his shop working on something. He enjoyed working on his cars or helping someone he knew fixing theirs. He had a passion for Jackson Lake which includes water skiing and power boating. Ray loved foosball and was pretty damn good at it! He loved the ocean and being in Florida. Ray was about getting things done, having fun and not sitting around for too long. He loved car shows and spent most Thanksgivings at Daytona for The Turkey Rod Run. He loved to ride off-road and made many trips to the mountains with his friends exploring. Ray is survived by his son, Taylor Johnson of Covington and his uncle, Raymond Bramlett of McDonough. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Georgia.
