Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William Howard Mathis, Sr.; son, Warren Eugene "Gene" Bridge; siblings, Lewis, French, Louise, Richard, Sonny, Jimmy and Delbert.
She had worked in child care her entire life - Mother Goose Daycare for 21 years and at Best Buddies Day Care and in her private home, all in Albany, Georgia. She was a member of Life Church in McDonough. Peggy enjoyed walking and having lunch with her friends. She enjoyed camping, cooking, trips to the beach, playing Yahtzee, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and spending time with her family.
Survivors include children, Scott Craven (June) Bridge, William H. "Billy" (Alicia) Mathis, Jr. and Jennifer Jo (Ryan) Rigsby; grandchildren, Christy, Mandy, Jeremy, Holli, Karmon, Lauren, Tyler, Taylor, Chance, Jake, Hannah and Walker; great grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, Emma, Aiden, Marshall, Noah, Adyson, Henry, Judah and Elijah; siblings, Robert (Mary) Sowers, Nancy (Clifton) Jewell and Jackie Sowers.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 - 3:00 pm at Floral Memorial Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Rd., Albany, Georgia 31721. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Haisten Funeral Home - McDonough, Georgia.
