Patty Mann, 58, of Alpharetta passed away peacefully August 20, 2020. She was born in Glennville, GA to the late Lamont and Madera Moody. Patty was a high school history teacher for almost 30 years, teaching at Long County High School, Eagle's Landing, Union Grove and most recently at Cambridge High School in Alpharetta. She loved talking, yoga, hiking, reading, history (of course) and traveling the world. She grew up with modest means and was the first in her family to go to college, but by the time of her death, she had acquired three degrees, visited six continents and dozens of countries, and positively impacted the lives of thousands of students and friends. Patty was an affable person who could make anyone feel loved and important. Her passion for teaching was eclipsed only by her love for all others, most notably, her “baby boy.” She is survived by her son, Patrick Hall and his fiancé Jen Murray of Indiana, one sister, Diane Moody of Glennville, a niece, Kristen Moody Chancey and her three children, Folsom, Grayson and Gracie Mae. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your favorite charity; she would also want you to make a plan to vote in November. A live streamed celebration of Patty's life will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. The family will receive friends after the service from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. 770-914-8833.
