Mildred Hood Mckibben

Mrs. Mildred Kathryn Hood McKibben, age 92, of McDonough, GA passed away December 17, 2015. She was born in Chattanooga, TN the daughter of the late Minnie Cobble Hood and David Alexander Hood. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Hugh Dorsey Owen and L. P. McKibben; grandson, Brian Womack; and sisters, Norma Dickson and Joella Almand. Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonough and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was a member of the McDonough Woman’s Club and was in four bridge clubs. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, flowers, traveling and was known for her positive outlook on life. Survivors are her children, Bill McKibben (Valerie) of Oxford, Debby Womack (Jim) of McDonough, David Owen (Susan) of McDonough, Kathi Lee (Kelly) of McDonough, Candy Barnette (Ron) of Dunedin, FL; grandchildren, Jay McKibben, Kel Lee (Tabby), Rebecca Bernier (Mark), Walt Lee (Rebecca), Dave Womack (Amber); great grandchildren, J. K. Lee and Ryan Lee, Hayden and Harper Womack, Anna Elizabeth Bernier and Campbell Lee. Funeral service for Mildred McKibben will be on Sunday, December 20, 2015 beginning 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of McDonough with Rev. Dr. Charles Thomas and Rev. Tom Bergman officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of McDonough or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service.
