Mrs. Laverne (Tina) Slade

Mrs. Slade is survived by her husband of 68 years Charles Slade; children Vicki (Roger) Slade, Dennis (Sherry) Slade, and Richard (Kim) Gibson; grandchildren Justin (Alicia) Slade, Zach (Heather) Sydnor, Jonathan Slade, Kacie Gibson, and Patrick Gibson; great grandchildren Landon Slade, Dakota Slade, and Addison Sydnor; one brother Charles Buddy Barron and many beloved family members.

Tina was fiercely compassionate about her family. She loved to Cook and her collection of cookbooks were numerous. She would always make you a cake if you did anything for her, often times baking for her doctors and nurses at various doctor offices. She had even made a cake for the fire station one time when they had taken her to the emergency room. Tina would take muscadines to the pharmacist so he could make wine, and when it didn’t turn out she’d take her own homemade wine to him. She loved her flowers, especially the roses she grew and she loved her garden. She had taken tomatoes and various vegetables to the pharmacist as well and she even mailed tomatoes to one of her grandson's in Maryland so he could have a little taste of home. Tina loved her family above all else and she will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Laverne will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253. A graveside service will be the following day, Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 722 Conley Rd, Forest Park, GA 30297.
