Mrs. Irene Brown Jenkins, age 97, of McDonough, GA passed away May 27, 2014. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Henry County the daughter of the late William Walter and Jennie Lou McCollum Brown. She was also preceded in death by a son, Reuben Jenkins; brother, William and Iler Brown; grandson, Anthony Rogers. Survivors are her daughter, Orion Holder of Jonesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Valerie Jenkins of McDonough; and a daughter-in-law, Emily Jenkins of McDonough; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Jenkins will be Saturday, May 31, 2014 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Derick Keeter and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 – 7:00 PM.
