Mr. Everett Meredith, age 81 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 4, 2018. He was born in Kosciusko, MS to the late Cap and Roxie Marie Patterson Meredith. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado and an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He retired as a Captain from the United States Air Force after 23 years of faithful service to his country. Everett was a member of Bethel AME Church in St. Petersburg, FL. He loved golfing, gardening, yard work and time on the computer. Survivors include his wife, Chappell Meredith; sons, Torreon Meredith of Chicago, IL, Brandon Meredith of Locust Grove, GA, Ephrian Myles of Sarasota, FL, Jauron (Kimesia) Myles of San Antonio, TX and Chavis (Brooke) Breland of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Maxwell Myles of San Antonio, TX, Karma Myles of San Antonio, TX, Owen Breland of St. Petersburg, FL, Grace Breland of St. Petersburg, FL and Meredith Breland of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Miriam Griffin of St. Petersburg, FL and Hazel Hall of Jackson, MS; brothers, James (Judy) Meredith of Jackson, MS and Arthur (Mary) Meredith of Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 – 11:00 AM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Minister Tavares Stephens, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Friends may visit the family Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service. Repast will be held at Heron Bay Cottage Club Center, Locust Grove, Georgia immediately after the service. Inurnment with full military honors will take place at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Thursday, March 15, 2018. The family wishes to acknowledge Sacred Journey Hospice for their kindness and care given to Mr. Meredith.
