Mr. Andy Stephens, age 71 of Stockbridge, Georgia went to be with his Lord on January 5, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Elvin Orestious and Ruby Lea Bartley Stephens. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Foster. Andy was a graduate of Forest Park Senior High School, Class of 1967. Andy was a tinkerer, a fixer, a woodworker and a Jack-of-all-trades. He loved the Lord and through this love, Andy cared for and invested in people and always tried to help any way he was able. He was a spiritual mentor to many of these people he encountered on his life journey. He was an active member of Eagles Landing First Baptist Church. Andy owned Stephens Construction Company for many years and then went on to work for W.H. Bass as a superintendent. His latest venture was Oleman Construction Company, which in the name it showed his sense of humor. Andy loved his family and his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing soft ball, watching the Braves and the Bulldogs, hunting, four wheeling and deep sea fishing. "To know him was to love him" was what one of Andy's friends had to say about him. Survivors include his wife of nearly 26 years, Linda Stephens; children, Dana (Ken) Rector of Springhill, TN, Andrea (Scott) Smith of Scottsdale, AZ, AJ (fiancé, Ginna) Stephens of Cave Creek, AZ, Steven (Sarah) Denham of Villa Rica, GA and Chris (Katie Towne) Denham of College Park, GA; grandchildren, MacKenzie Rector, Morgan Rector, Mason Rector, Sydney Smith, Sommer Smith, Andrew Stephens, Wyatt Stephens and Ada Denham; siblings, Doug Stephens of Mount Zion, GA, Bonnie Tillman of Shippensburg, PA and Sandra Brooks of Dahlonega, GA; several nieces and nephews.
