Robert Baxter, Jr., 82, of Maysville died Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Maysville Church of the Nazerene. Mr. Baxter first retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department and then later retired from EPT-Browning Manufacturing Company. He was born in Mason County, Kentucky on September 22, 1930 the son of the late Robert Reynolds Baxter and Hallie Lovell Payne Baxter. He is survived by his wife, Ruth McDaniels Baxter, two sons, Terry Baxter (Theresa) and Kelly Baxter both of Maysville and two daughters, Julie McGowan (James) and Michelle Bradford (Robert) both of Maysville; Ten grandchildren, Terrance Michael Baxter, Tabitha Baxter, Traci Baxter, Tyler Baxter, Joey Baxter, Jason Baxter, Jared Baxter, Dusty Williams, Aaron McGowan and Chase Bradford; ten great grandchildren and one brother, Will Krusie Baxter of Cynthiana, Kentucky. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Baxter and James Douglas Baxter and two sisters, Myrtle Walker and Ollie Mae Baxter. Funeral services for Robert Baxter, Jr. will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2013 with Reverend Lonnie Blosser and Reverend James Rawlings officiating. Burial will be in the Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terrance Michael Baxter, Tyler Baxter, Joey Baxter, Jason Baxter, Jared Baxter, Aaron McGowan and Chase Bradford. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM.
