HAROUTOUN EMRIKIAN, age 88, passed away on October 9, 2024. He was born in Aleppo, Syria, to the late Armenak and Hripsime Emrikian. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loucine Emrikian, son Ara (Liesl) Emrikian, daughter Maral Emrikian, granddaughter Madelynn Emrikian, and several nieces and nephews. Haroutoun was hardworking and never settled for a job half-done. He owned a body shop in Syria before moving to the United States in 1966 for the opportunity to start a better life. Haroutoun made his home in Garfield Heights and began a long career as a welder for the Cleveland Catholic Diocese. He enjoyed being active in the Armenian community, playing backgammon, juggling a soccer ball, and traveling. Family meant everything to Haroutoun. He loved attending festivals and dancing with his wife. Growing up his daughter would look forward to their putt putt golf games and going for ice cream. Passionate about the stock market he often had lively discussions with his son on what to buy or when to sell. Haroutoun doted on his granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye. She affectionately called him Baba, his favorite name of all. He was preceded in death by his brother Hagop Emrikian and sister Vartouhie Malajikian. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in our hearts through the lessons he taught us and the memories we will cherish forever.
