Dolores C. Veltri

Dolores Catherine (Mickey) Veltri , 92, of Greensboro, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband (Tom) of 69 years. She is survived by her sons Tom (Janet) of Greensboro, NC and Jimmy of East Northport, NY, her granddaughter, Nicole Freiler (Justin) and great-grandchildren Joshua Thomas and Maya Anderson of Conshohocken, PA.

Mickey was born and grew up in Maspeth, NY. She married in 1953 and raised her family in Massapequa, NY while working in the insurance and engraving fields. She remained in Massapequa until 2022 when she moved to Greensboro, NC to be closer to her son, Tom.

Mickey resided at Carriage House Senior Living Community of Greensboro where the staff became family. She was under the care of AuthoraCare Collective of Greensboro in her final days. The family would like to send their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff at both Carriage House and AuthoraCare for their kindness, professionalism and caretaking.

A visitation for Dolores will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa, NY 11758. A committal will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
