Sheila grew up with one sister, Starr. She graduated from Okemos High School in 1958 and worked at Oldsmobile as a secretary until starting a family. Later Sheila returned to work as a secretary for Lansing School District until she retired in 2002.
Sheila married Daniel Noel Fulger in 1959 on her 19th birthday. Together they raised 3 daughters; Amy (Terry Ritter), Sharon (Tom Pease), and Kelly (R.C. Ryder). Sheila and Dan have nine grandchildren; Josh (Lauren), Kyler, Kelsie (Chris), Taylor, Nick, Marissa, Tristan, Brendan, and Ethan and two great-grand-daughters; Raelynn and Briar Ritter.
Sheila enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing, bowling, camping, vacationing, and spending time with friends. Family was also very important to Sheila. She spent many fun years enjoying time with grandchildren. Many favorite memories include; sleepovers, attending sporting events, and baking Scotcheroos and Christmas cookies.
Sheila was a member of Pilgrim Congregational UCC for 44 years and served the church in many ways. One of her favorites was running and organizing the children’s closet through Lansing Christian Services. She especially enjoyed shopping for the children’s clothing and giving back to the community.
Sheila lovingly cared for her husband, Dan who had Alzheimer’s. Sheila was a very kind, thoughtful and loving mom, wife, grandma, sister and friend and will be deeply missed.
