Patricia E. Rice

Patricia (Pattee) E. Rice, of Mason, MI, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at the age of 71. She was the daughter to Glenn and Maggie Sayre of Pleasant Lake. She graduated from East Jackson High School. She was employed at Michigan Bell as a switchboard operator and eventually retired as a switchboard operator from Sparrow Hospital. The family has fond memories of Mom on vacations to the family cottage in Manistee Lake, and going to Pleasant Lake on hot summer days. She enjoyed gardening, she planted many of her favorite flowers her father loved, and passed her knowledge of gardening down to her children and grandchildren. Pattee enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and loved them so very much.

Surviving is her beloved husband, Wayne; 3 children, Ronald Rice, Holly (Matthew) Franck, Thomas (Karrie) Rice; 10 grandchildren, sisters, Suzie (Chuck) Tiffany, and Martha Jean Allen; and her cat, Mildred. Pattee was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Maggie Sayre; brother, Glenn “Zeke” Sayre.

A memorial service will be held 5pm, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. The Rice Family invites you to a dinner to celebrate Pattee’s life at Aurelius Township Hall immediately after the service ends at approximately 6:00pm.
