Janet Louise Raymond

She was born March 11, 1939 in Mason, Michigan, where she was a lifelong resident.

She loved flowers and had many flower beds at their home. She also loved holidays, and had decorations for every one of them. She liked to crochet and made “lap blankets” for her church group, and then for the residents of Vista Springs, her assisted living home. She really enjoyed her time there, playing bingo, getting her hair done, and her nails painted, the social atmosphere made her comfortable. She had a very large heart and enjoyed being around everyone, she always had a smile on her face.

Her parents, Roy and Gertrude Hills, her husband, Mansil, her sons Mark and Timothy, her sister, Ruthann Cook, and her granddaughter Natasha Szichak predecease her. Her daughters Sheila Szichak, Brenda Kirby, and Penny Weaver (Louie), and her brother Charles Hills survive her. She has 10 grandchildren: Mike Raymond, Josh Raymond, Joseph Szichak, Natasha Szichak (deceased), Jacob Szichak, Danielle Szichak, Roy Kirby, Emily Kirby, Louie Weaver III, and Mickey Weaver. She has 12 great-grandchildren: Allyson Tatroe, Zachary Tatroe, Kayleigh Horn, Nathan Drumheller, Sophia Raymond, Caleb Raymond, Camden Smith, Zander Szichak, Kingston Szichak, D'vio Davis, Ar’iel Davis, and Ar’mani Davis. She has many nieces and nephews, family, and friends that will greatly miss her.

A service in her honor will be held on June 7, 2024 at 2:00 pm with visitation at 1:00 pm, at Mason First Church of the Nazarene, 415 E. Maple Street, Mason, Michigan. Following the service, Janet will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery. Repast following the graveside service at Mason First Church of the Nazarene.
