Alvin J. Mack, age 84, died December 27, 2012. He was born September 4, 1928, in Alma, MI to Othel and Lucille (Banks) Mack. Alvin honorably served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Browne-Cavender Post #148 in Mason. He retired from GM after 23 years of service. Alvin enjoyed watching U of M and Detroit Lions football but especially loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Norma Jean; 3 daughters, Cheryle (Todd) Mittag, Patricia Wright and Carol Mack; 3 sons, Michael, Richard (Michelle), and Douglas; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Michael (Mary) Murphy; and one sister, Wanetta (Richard) Smiley. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball-Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with the Rev. Wesley B. Emerson officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
