Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, John Thomas Wolcott, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 31, 2017, his 54th wedding anniversary. He went peacefully with a smile on his face. He was born April 8th, 1940 in Reed City, MI to Tammy Stephens and Charles Holtzlander. He was adopted by Roy and Vivian Wolcott and raised in Cadillac, MI. He graduated with a journalism degree and Air Force commission from Michigan State. In 1962 John was stationed at Paine Field Air Force Base in Everett as Public Information Officer. In 1963 he married Roberta Horn and during their 54 year marriage they were blessed with two children, James and Teresa. For over 48 years, John earned his living by reporting the news and being part of the business community. 24 of those years as business editor of The Everett Herald and founding editor of the Snohomish County Business Journal. After his retirement in 2010, he continued writing for his freelance business Features Northwest. His passions in life were aviation, fishing and camping with family, and serving as board member for Pregnancy Aid of Snohomish County. John was preceded in death by his birth parents and adoptive parents. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, son Jim (Kari), daughter Teresa (Patrick) Kearney; grandchildren Brandin (Brooklyn) and Blake Wolcott, and Declan and Cailin Kearney; brothers Pat and Mike Emery, sister Nancy (Bill) Arends; brother-in-law Robert Horn; and numerous nieces and nephews. As a 50 year member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Marysville, John loved his Lord and his Church.
