Helen L. Downing, 83 of Marysville passed away Friday morning at Arlington Health and Rehabilitation, with family by her side. Helen was born in North Carolina to parents William Clyde Duncan and Mary Edith (Swanger) Duncan. She married Miles Downing and started a family in Marysville, leaving 9 surviving children; Debra, Diane, Mark, Wayne, Carol, Janet, Steven, Mary, and Clyde. She also had 20 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Downing.
In addition to Helen being a devoted house wife and loving mother, she took on many projects such as construction, mechanics, and masonry. She went on to obtain an AAS degree in business administration/accounting and held secretary/bookkeeping positions. Her legacy will be carried on in all who loved her.
Her viewing will be held at Schaefer Shipman Funeral home in Marysville, Tuesday 1/26/2016, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for public. There will be a rosary at 5:30pm at the viewing. The funeral mass will be held at St. Marys church on Wednesday, 1/27/2016 at 10:30am.
