Chris Gittens, known to some of his friends as “Sven,” passed away on May 25th 2017, in his home in Stanwood, WA with his family and his dog Ariel after a courageous fight with Melanoma. Chris was born April 16th 1968 in La Mesa, CA. He is the son of Sondra Bake (mother) and Richard Bake (stepfather), brother of Melissa of Marysville, Uncle to Amanda of Smoke Point and Zachary Ashlee and Ryan, stepbrother of Heidi and Scott of Snohomish and April. He was loved by his Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary of Quincy IL and all of his cousins. If you were a friend of Chris’s you were a friend for life; personal friends, co-workers, neighbors and even friends from school. He loved to work on anything electrical, he was a “tinker”, loved to cook his special chili for his friends. Chris served in the Navy during Desert Storm. After leaving the service he moved to Washington. He was employed at the Everett Boeing Plant as a maintenance Mechanic. Chris will be greatly missed by his family, and so many friends. He made such an impact in so many lives.
Chris was predeceased by father Thaddeus, Uncle Bob, Uncle Bill, Cousins Brad and Julie, Grandparents and Brother John.
A Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held at his house on June 24th at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to “the Melanoma Research Foundation”
