Our dear daughter, Brooke Elizabeth Knowles, with her family by her side, was unexpectedly called to heaven on March 14, 2018. She was born May 28, 1993 and spent her 24 years in Marysville. Although Brooke had many challenges she, along with her family, faced them with courage, diligence and perseverance. She taught us about unconditional love, kindness, selflessness, and acceptance, all without ever saying a word. Her delicate presence and personality had a way of lighting up a room.
We are so thankful to the many wonderful people who touched her life and we have been told by many that she had uniquely touched their lives as well. Again, without a word, she had a way of communicating whether it be pat-pat on your hand or her peek-a-boo looks.
With family, Brooke traveled to Maui, Hawaii, Disney World in Florida, Disneyland and to visit family in California, Canada, and throughout Washington. She adored her big brother and was always in attendance at his baseball and football games. Brooke loved music and really enjoyed viewing light displays, especially during the holidays. She was fond of the pets that were a part of her life. Brooke was so blessed to have many wonderful educators as she transitioned through the Marysville School District and we are grateful to each of them.
In recent years, Brooke lived at Quil Ceda Manor Adult Family Home where she received amazing care. Brooke enjoyed visits with family and friends at her mother and father’s homes too. She had her outings, volunteering at Auntie Ann’s to offer samples, to Grove Elementary where students would read to her, as well as her recreational time at Willow Place.
We cannot express how grateful we are to the people who cared for and touched her life, including those at Children’s Hospital, Marysville School District, Quil Ceda Manor Adult Family Home, and of course our friends and family members.
She is survived by her mother Tammi Boutchyard, father Darren Knowles, brother Blair Knowles, and their significant others. As well her grandparents Clint & Melanie Boutchyard, Diana Gillham, Larry & Jeri Knowles; aunts & uncles, Chad (Jan), Stephanie, Shannon (John) and cousins Chad Jr., Chelsea(Travis), and Ethan.
We have cherished every moment we spent with our Miss Brooke and will hold dear every memory….. until we meet again. We find strength in knowing she has been released from her earthly bounds to reach her heavenly potential. All our love Brookie, Mom, Dad, and brother Blair.
A viewing is scheduled on Wednesday, March 21st from 3p.m. to 7p.m. at Schaefer Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. A celebration of Brooke’s life is being planned with details to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Epilepsy Foundation or Children’s Hospital in Brooke’s name.
