Robert Garrett Scott

Robert Garrett Scott, 65, of Martinsville, Virginia, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his home. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on January 4, 1950 to Elmo Scott and Nancy Hopkins Scott. He served in the Army Reserves, was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church and was employed by Martinsville City Schools. He had a career in Facilities Maintenance for 47 years. Robert was preceded in death by his father. Surviving in addition to his mother, his wife, Donna Brim Scott of the home, one daughter, Amanda Harter and husband, Kevin of Martinsville, two sons, Keith Scott and wife, Paige of Collinsville and Barry Scott and wife, Kimberly of Collinsville, one sister Michelle Hopkins and husband, Kenny of Fieldale, two brothers, Donald Scott and wife, Gloria of Axton and Tim Scott and wife, Jean of Woolwine and five grandchildren, Morgan, Mallory and Megan Scott and Rilee Harter and Nate Scott. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Stone Memorial Christian Church and the service will follow at 1:00 PM with Minister Lawrence Harris and Minister Tim Wood officiating.
