Robert Lowell Crotty

Robert Lowell “Bob” Crotty, 75, of Collinsville died of cancer on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born to the late Rev. Allen Crotty and Mary Belcher Crotty in Princeton, WV on July 27, 1938. He was also pre-deceased by his brother, Larry M. Crotty, of Collinsville.

Mr. Crotty is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 56 years, Betty White Crotty, of the home as well as two daughters, Debbie Smith and her husband, Mark, of Belews Creek, NC, and Denise Crotty Read of Virginia Beach, VA.; one brother, Alvin Crotty and his wife, Carolyn of Narrows, VA; five grandchildren, Joshua Kaczmarek and his wife, Holly, of Belews Creek, Carly Kackmarek of Durham, NC, Sarah Sicinski and her husband, George, Andrew Read and Daniel Read of Virginia Beach and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Rose Kaczmarek, of Belews Creek as well as three aunts and several cousins

Bob was a people person and loved helping others. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a person who loved and served God, loved and cared for his family and believed in helping his fellowman.

The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, May 13th, at 11:00 A.M. by Pastor Larry Cheek at First Baptist Church of Collinsville.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Crotty to the Hope Project of First Baptist Church of Collinsville P. O. Box 36, Collinsville, VA 24078, or the SPCA of Martinsville-Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, VA.
