Dickey Crawford Bondurant

Dickey Crawford Bondurant, 74, of the Figsboro area, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was born April 14, 1950, to the late Walter Marion Bondurant, Sr. and Doris Elizabeth Berry Bondurant.
Dickey is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Karen “Libby” Haynes Bondurant. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Jason Bondurant and wife, Sheryl; a daughter, Elizabeth Bondurant Dillon and husband Scott; four grandchildren, Taylor Bondurant, Callie Bondurant, Ava Dillon, and Crawford Dillon; and numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. In addition, surviving are his brother, Walter Bondurant, Jr. and wife, Robin; brother-in-law, Mike Haynes and wife, Carolyn; sister-in-law, Martha Bryant and husband, Doug.
Dickey was a native of Henry County. He began his career delivering furniture for his father at Bondurant Furniture Company in Martinsville, VA. Later, he worked as a mechanic at Piedmont Dodge, followed by working at the Virginia ABC Store, and finally retiring from Midway Bottle Gas. Dickey was a car enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He found immense joy in spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren. He had a charisma that filled every room, a larger-than-life personality that radiated warmth and laughter.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 1pm - 2pm at Pleasant Hill Church, 2717 Ruritan Road, Rocky Mount, VA. Memorial Service will be from 2pm - 3pm at the church with
Pastor Tim Wilson and Pastor Henry Butler officiating.
