Melissa Jean (Alsobrook) Papajohn, 63, of Harpers Ferry, WV, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 30, 2024 at her residence. Born June 16, 1961, in Bradenton, Fla. She was the daughter of the late Sandra Jean Cook and Douglas Spencer Alsobrook.
Melissa is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerome Papajohn; daughters Autumn Harvey and Amy Nicewarner; three grandsons, Oliver, Liam, and Sawyer and many family members.
Melissa served the country as a military wife for 21 years. One of the toughest, selfless jobs a wife can sign up for, bar none. In times of military deployments, schools, training and PCSs, Melissa held the home front down ensuring all were safe and sound. A job well done.
Crafts were one of Melissa’s true passions; she excelled in quilting, Brazilian embroidery, sewing and her greatest passion crochet. Dollies, afghans, runners to christening gowns were all within her capability. Melissa was a master at the art of crochet.
Melissa was a proud member of the Harpers Ferry Woman’s Club, and of Baptist faith.
Melissa loved her family, dogs, and all the wonderful times she experienced. She will be forever cherished and missed by all who knew and loved her.
