Jimmy was born on July 9, 1942 in Charles Town, WV and lived most of his life in Jefferson County. He was preceded in death by father, Melvin James Magaha and mother, Adelaide Glenn Magaha.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, of 43 years of marriage as of this March; son, Chris Magaha and his wife, Michelle of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Ann Miller and her husband, Will of Shepherdstown, WV; stepdaughter, Kim Benton of Keyser, WV; daughter, Jennifer Rogers and her husband, Charlie of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren: Katie, Caitlin, MaKayla, Madison, Elena, and Colby; two great-grandchildren: Charlie and Jamie; sister, Mary Francis Furr of Ranson, WV; and nephew, Greg Furr of Ranson, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Rick Furr.
There wasn’t a sport he didn’t like but his favorite was college basketball and football. Not to forget to mention his love for the farm life, horses, and rodeos. He loved the Florida Seminoles and WVU. He also loved hunting and sharing stories with friends. He never met a stranger. He was well liked. He was always known by his gentle handshake, though callous from hard work. He was proud of his work ethic. He was prompt and would do anything asked of him. He loved helping others. The last fifteen years he enjoyed retirement with his wife and family.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 12 PM to 2 PM at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg, WV. Funeral services will follow at 2pm at the funeral home. Please bring fond memories of Jimmy. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
