Frank Owen Carper Sr. born on October 28, 1938 of Martinsburg West Virginia passed away in his home on Thatcher Road surrounded by family and friends on October 28, 2022 at the age of 84. Survivors include spouse (Jeanetta M. Carper), 3 children (Melinda S. Cannon, Frank O. Carper II, Jacob B. Carper), 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 siblings (Ann Darlington and Jacob A. Carper), and 2 sister-in-laws (Brenda Carper and Vickie Carper).
Preceded in death parents (Edna Carper and Jacob Alexander Carper), daughter (Sherry L. Dick), 2 siblings (Gary Carper Sr and Larry Carper Sr.).
At a very early age he knew that dairy farming was his life long career. As a farmer he had early mornings, late nights and long days. He endured scars, callouses, bruises and burns. He faced fears, tears, laughter and love. It was a way of life and a sense of pride and a family affair. It was home and there was no other place he would rather be.
He was a pioneer in land preservation, preserving farm land. He was a member of the Tuscarora Ruritan Club, participated in the bicentennial re-enactment, a member of the Paint and Quarter Horse Association, a board member of the Farm Bureau association and a member of the Eastern Panhandle Saddle Club where he enjoyed bull riding and bronc riding.
A visitation will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Wednesday November 2, 2022 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be at Rosedale Funeral Home on Thursday November 3, 2022 at 1 pm with Burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
