Mr. Richardson was born in Phenix City, AL, and raised in Columbus, GA. He was a resident of Martinez for twenty years.
Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Bernice Richardson, as well as his brothers Sam Richardson Jr. and Greg Richardson. He is survived by his wife Joyce; son, Michael Richardson; daughters, Sandra Black and Rhonda Richardson; sister, Ethelyn Kirkland; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He attended Jordan High School in Columbus. Ronald served in the army from 1958 to 1962 where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Assigned to an armored division, he was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas and in Germany.
After the army, he started a career in retail which included managing Regal Jewelers in downtown Columbus and the jewelry department at Montgomery Wards in Peachtree Mall. He spent the majority of his career working for Western Auto where he managed stores in various locations and later became a district manager. After retirement, he was a substitute teacher in Richmond County, GA.
A memorial service will be planned for later this year.
