Betty loved and faithfully served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the way she lived her life and raised her children and as a member and teacher at Martinez Baptist where she was a member for 33 years.
Her first career was with Sara Coventry Jewelry as a Regional Manager. She was in the top 10 of Managers in the U.S. during her entire career of 20 years. In 1988, she obtained her real estate license and had a distinguished career as a Realtor until she retired in 2009.
She loved the game of golf. She and Russell played as much as they could for as long as they could. They taught and instilled a love of the game to their grandchildren.
She loved to cook and was a great one. There were always her homemade biscuits or cornbread on the dinner table. Just about everyone she and Russell knew, from friends, doctors, store clerks or anyone. Russell always looked forward to a tin of her homemade peanut brittle every Christmas. She was also a talented seamstress.
